Free Whitepaper:
Insiders Guide to Overcoming Deliverability Challenges at the Largest U.S. ISPs.

What was true in the past will be true into the foreseeable future; deliverability will present itself as a challenge to anyone attempting to have their email messages reach the inboxes of their target recipients. We’ve all experienced the frustration of having a piece of mail falsely routed to a junk or bulk email folder. So how do we overcome the challenges of deliverability? The first step is to understand the various processes and inefficiencies of the current deliverability landscape.

User Complaints: The #1 Obstacle to Deliverability

While the topic of email deliverability is a moving target, there is one aspect you can safely bet on: the more complaints generated by your email activity, the greater the chance you will be blocked. Conversations with top ranking email administrators regarding email deliverability ring a consistent tone across the board, “send mail that my users want, mail that generates a low amount of complaints, and I’ll deliver your mail to their inboxes.” Listrak’s free whitepaper on Overcoming Deliverability Challenges will present insight on how to accomplish this.

MSN Postmaster Site Launched

On May 26, 2005 Microsoft launched the MSN Postmaster web site, an online resource designed to help email senders, ISPs, email service providers and others better understand issues and solutions regarding the sending email to MSN and Hotmail users. The MSN Postmaster site offers up-to-date information and tools addressing a range of issues: fighting junk email, improving delivery of legitimate bulk email messages, streamlining the reporting of email abuse and assisting with troubleshooting. We recommend visiting http://postmaster.msn.com to get an understanding of the exact technologies and solutions in place at MSN and Hotmail.

New Listrak Feature: Contact URL

On June 1, 2005 Listrak released a new feature called Content URL. Content URL allows Listrak users to publish their campaign content on the web and have Listrak auto pull the content to include it in their email campaigns using special Listrak tags.

This new feature can be used in a number of ways. The most obvious method would be to post your entire campaign on your website and reference both the Text part and HTML part using Content URL tags. For example, if you posted your HTML part on your site at http://www.xyzcorp.com/campaigns/widget_webinar.htm, you could reference that URL in the HTML box on the Author & Send email page using the Content URL tag,
#Listrak\Content URL=" http://www.xyzcorp.com/campaigns/widget_webinar.htm"#

This new feature will help creative teams better collaborate content creation by using the web as a review method, instead of sending multiple review versions during the early stages of campaign creation.

Listrak users can also include multiple Content URL tags within their campaigns to pull content from multiple URLs into one campaign. Pushing the envelope even further, Listrak Pro account holders with profiling information enabled can use the Content URL feature to personalize campaigns by pulling in dynamic data from the web.

The possibilities for this feature are virtually limitless. Listrak users who are interested in implementing this new feature should contact support@listrak.com to obtain documentation about content URL.
