    Mistake #1 – Batch and blast

    If you're still batching and blasting your email messages to every member of your list it's time to put that bad practice to rest. Inboxes are over-crowded. You don't want to read emails that don't pertain to you and neither do your subscribers. Even simple segmentation, such as location or product preference, greatly increases response and ROI.

    An even better approach is to use event triggered messaging to build automated email conversations that send the right message to the right person at the right time, or dynamic content to ensure that subscribers receive the images, content, and calls-to-action that are most relevant and interesting to them.
