Bruce Alterman

Owner/Operator, The Brickery Grill and Bar

As owners and operators of The Brickery Grill and Bar in Sandy Springs, just North of Atlanta, Bruce and Sally Alterman are now in their 17th year. Bruce spent his first decade in business running the produce division for his family’s chain of supermarkets, Big Apple and Food Giant Stores. During that time, he orchestrated a growth of 20% or more each year as the company was growing and opening stores rapidly.

What he learned about marketing and operating a business never left him. Today, The Brickery reflects what he likes to call the best of both worlds: An independently owned restaurant with a “Mom and Pop” approach relying on a scaled down and reapplied version of the marketing and operating systems that ran a 100 store chain.

Today, Bruce will speak to how his permission based e-mail marketing program, through Listrak, has evolved and its importance in seeing The Brickery become and household name in the Sandy Springs community.
